I really like this experiment from Jordan Moore on changing the scroll pattern on his website. While it goes against the users expectation, it does make you take a bit more notice of the page.
Some key things to consider moving forward with this would be…
- Handling RTL content
- How does mouse scroll behaviour work with a mouse scroll wheel
- How you can avoid headings at the bottom of coloums
- Can you scale typography in the same way you would normally from screen to screen?
